New FDA approved drug for allergy

the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved Xyzal (levocetirizine dihydrochloride, by UCB and Sanofi-Aventis) for treating nasal allergies and chronic hives in people 6 and older.

Based on clinical testing involving more than 2,000 people, the drug was found to significantly reduce symptoms of sneezing, itchy and runny nose, and itchy eyes. Among people with chronic urticaria or hives, it reduces the severity of itching.
